Making a Heart of Glass
Making The Heart

Each piece of silver is carefully shaped by hand to fit perfectly around the sea glass. Although I remain as close as possible to my original design, the variations in glass mean that each heart is unique and requires shaping by eye rather than using a jig.

The 2 halves of the heart are made from two thicknesses of sterling silver wire. I first manipulate the thicker wire using round nose pliers then repeat this technique with the narrower wire for smaller section of the heart.

Once I am happy with the shape and that the sea glass fits comfortably within I solder the heart to the bezel cup in two places.
